三、主讲人（Speaker）：MartinWeisser

Martin Weisser obtained his MA in English Linguistics, English Literature, and Galloroman Philology from the University of Wuerzburg, Germany, in 1994, and his PhD in English Linguistics in 2001. In 2010, he completed his professorial thesis (habilitation) at the University of Bayreuth, Germany.

His main interests are in the corpus-based analysis of English, with a special emphasis on pragmatics, as well as most other aspects of spoken and written language, including the creation of web-based teaching materials for teaching linguistics.

四、讲座内容（Abstract）：

Developing & (Re-)Designing EAP/ESP Teaching Materials Around a Common Core.

In this workshop, Martin will present ideas about how to determine recurrent 'themes' in EAP/ESP, based on his experience in working with and designing teaching materials for engineers, scientists, and business students.

Apart from identifying these themes, we'll also discuss ideas and issues in designing stimulating and interactive exercises, making appropriate use of online facilities, etc. Most of these will be illustrated using various online materials. Martin has developed over the years for both ESP/EAP and linguistics courses.
