六、讲座内容简介:
a. Strategic communication is an emerging field madeup of several large subfields, all of which conduct planned communicationcampaigns. The three largest subfields are public relations, marketingcommunication and health communication.
b. Strategic communication campaigns are verydifferent from tactical communication. Strategic campaigns begin with researchon the publics (audiences) and THEN the creation of a communication campaignfor that audience, and finally more research to see whether your campaignsucceeded in getting your audience to change the relationship they are willingto have with your organization.
c. I will discuss grand strategy, strategy and tacticsas well as what issues are, the stages in the life cycle of an issue and hownew information technology is changing both our publics and the way strategiccommunication is practiced.
d. I will also explain my own paradigm (model) forstrategic communication and public relations, which I call the CocreationalModel, and why I think it is more effective than the traditional model which Icall the Instrumental Model
e. Finally, if time permits, I will discuss whatissues are and the life cycle they go through as well as crises and riskcommunication.
七、嘉宾简介:
Carl Botan教授是美国乔治梅森大学传播系终身教授,2005-2012年担任该系的博士点负责人。教授主要研究方向为公共关系与战略传播,是公共关系科学研究与理论建设的奠基人之一,其撰写的《公共关系理论》在美国公关教材中排名第二。教授也是最早提出战略传播方向的学者之一,目前正在撰写第一部战略传播理论著作。教授曾在美国普渡大学传播系,天普大学战略与组织传播系任教,并为其博士教育做出重要贡献。
