Training on How to use the Blackboard System

Theme：How to use the blackboard teaching system to conduct online teaching

troduction of Blackboard：

Blackboard is multifunctional network platform with the functions of online teaching, digital resources management, online video classroom and campus community. It is the base for all courses of the university. It boasts rich teaching resources. It is also a management tool for the university and the schools to control the quality of the teaching activities.

Main Speakers: Mr. Wu Zhiwei、Ms. Bai Yajuan

Mr. WU Zhiwei (Patrick) is a lecturer of Faculty of English Language and Culture, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies. Earlier this year, he started to use Blackboard system as an integral part of a teaching reform, encouraging out-of-class involvement and peer-interaction among students.

Ms. Bai Yajuan, graduated with a master degree on Educational Technology from South China Normal University is now working as a lab technician in Educational Technology Center. She also serves as Blackboard teaching platform administrator, familiar with Blackboard function modules, proficient in course management and curriculum design. She has repeatedly been the main speaker for Blackboard related training.

In this workshop, Mr. WU, with the help of Ms. Bai, will explain the basic functions of Blackboard system and his using experience (sometimes exiting, sometimes frustrating) with the participants. In addition, participants will also be exposed to hands-on practice of creating a digital course, uploading course materials, deploying and grading on-line assignments / tests, creating BBS forum, encouraging student involvement and other related basic functions of Blackboard system.
