Jiang: Participating in the EMI study course has broadened my understanding of effective EMI strategies and transformed my teaching by equipping me with practical tools to enhance language acquisition, engage students, and create a1n inclusive learning environment.

Vicky: In EMI’s classes I have become more open to new things and use body language to teach and encourage students more.

Kitty: In this class, the most interest part is about “interactive technuqies ”, I can find more useful methods to interactive with students to let them feel more fun in class.

Lilian: Growth mindset is like muscle, the more you use it the more powerful the intellectual capability would be. This is the same as the teacher, who are supposed to be a life-long learner.

Monica: The EMI teaching is not simply a translation of Chinese course, it involves plenty of interactive techniques and students should be the center of class.

Shao: I learn the importance of idea that“teaching is not the focus but to facilitate the learning process of students”, and start applying interactive techniques and visual aids in my lesson plannings.

Joyce: The course has helped me enable the implementation of effective strategies such as visual aids, simplified explanations, and interactive activities, and create a supportive environment to enhance student engagement and language acquisition.

Lynn: I am happy with that as I think about interaction, I’ve not only come up with the importance of interaction but also what to do, how and when to do it,and the terminology and ideology behind it; I will never run out of interactive activities now!

Emma: i used to think that the boring course content was the reason for students' lack of interest in learning, therefore my class was always ordinary, however, through this course, i gradually understand the role and function of teachers, and as teachers, we can actually use various teaching theories or methods(such as various of interactive techniques)to make the course content more attractive so as to increase students’ participation, make the entire teaching process interesting and efficiently, and help students master the knowledge well.

Emerson: EMI is a systematic belief, teaching thinking and skills, including growth mindset, English thinking pattern, SQ3R reading skills, lecture technique, lesson planning, teaching skills, such as classroom interaction skills, teaching language, k-cart, Journal, etc

Ling: I was vividly impressed by the earlier teaching stage of professional English class. I was tired for preparing the class because as a freshman of the school i was always assigned the maximum classes like 18 classes a week. So I tried my best to economize my preparation time. I just translate the all teaching materials and translate to the students. The result turned out the students are so boring in the class even sleeping in the class. Until i share sth intimate and interesting event in the class, the students would look up at me. What an awkward situation. I blamed on the students that they were not interested in the study.

But with the accumulation of teaching experience and teaching training, as well as the cut down of the teaching class, i found the awkward situation can not blamed on the students, but on me. There is a Chinese saying: "There are no students who cannot teach well, only teachers who cannot teach”. This proverb has been validated on me. Now the all I want is the eye contact thirsty for study. So I did a lot of change, including the EMI training, I learned a lot.

No matter what I teach, the center is not me, the center is the students. The teacher speaks all the time without any opportunity for student to speak, to move, to think, the class is destined to fail. So at the beginning, I can make use of the interaction tips of NO.21: RECALL, SUMMERIZE, QUESTION, CONNECT AND COMMENT, even NO.16 to MAKE THEM GUESS to attract students interest. During the process of the class, I can separate the students into the breakout room to discuss the topic, share their opinion, get conclusion what they have got, even make the mind map. Design the proper question and task according to the Bloom’s taxonomy.

ESL students are basically not confidence in their English expression. In the class, I should use more visual materials, hand gesture, even the action instead of oral speaking with former describe to make them have a distinct understanding. I used to adapt the teaching ppt made by the publisher. The students even don’t look up at the ppt at all. Because it is useless. So according to the DIVID PHILIPs ppt making skills i get sth useful points to apply in my future presentation in the class.
